As part of our ongoing "Getting to Know Your Local Businesses" series, this week we sat down with Dianna Liner, founder, CEO and president of Liner Entertainment Group, LLC.
Tell us a bit about your business: What does your business offer, and how long have you been around?
For over 17 years, we have been managing the careers of those who are pursuing a career as a recording artist, singer or actor. As a talent management and booking firm, we also offer talent casting and public relations. We also will be providing Mixing and Mastering, as well as Music video production.
As a SAG-AFTRA Management Firm, our membership represents approximately 160,000 performers and media professionals across 25 locals in the United States who work in film and digital motion pictures, television programs, commercials, video games, corporate/educational and non-broadcast productions, new media, television and radio news outlets, as well as major label recording artists.
How did you decide to get involved in this line of work?
I started our company after touring with Nsync in the 90s. I learned about the business while I was out on tour and I decided to start my own management firm when I returned back to this area.
Working with artists like “Five for Fighting” and John Mayer as a record rep with Aware Records/Columbia, working with artists like Everlast and Amber at Tommy Boy Records as an artist representative, working as a music reporter with MTV Networks and working in promotions and marketing with 104 KRBE FM Radio, I’ve had essential exposure to the nuances of large event promotion, from artist and venue procurement to sponsor packaging and marketing throughout.
I am also an actress and singer myself and I love helping others follow their dreams in the entertainment industry.
Tell us a couple things you are proud of your business. What are you known for? What separates you from the competition?
The entertainment industry can be very tough and I am very proud and blessed that I have survived for over 17 years. As a female-owned business, I care about my clients differently than other business owners in this industry. So many artists have shared their nightmare stories of how their management team was not as strong as they thought.
We put our clients first and take care of them!
What is your favorite part of running this business?
I love meeting new and interesting people. There’s always something new happening!
Who is your ideal customer/client? Who do you serve best?
Any person over the age of 15 who can act, sing or has a band is our ideal customer/client.
We also provide public relations services for businesses; so, the world is our client. LOL.
Is there any other information you'd like your potential customers/clients to know about your business?
We are now offering Label Meetings for recording artists, singers and songwriters in which they can sit down and meet face-to-face with a MAJOR record label in New York. We help them shop their material, promoting and exposing their talent to the music industry. For details on this marketing service, call us.

How do you see your business growing and improving over the next couple of years?
We currently have two locations, one in The Woodlands and in London. In the next couple of years, we plan to open an office in Canada and in Los Angeles.
