It could have been a hog in my yard..this article says they rub against trees..well my tree had lights on it and a strong extension cord,I couldn't understand how on earth that could have come off but it did! I am going to investigate more in the morning and see if the tree has hog hair on it..this town is like the chamber of horrors for me lol next thing someone is going to say they saw Dracula 😂. By the way @cabeuser said we had foot and mouth here, well that's one of the many hog diseases ughhh gross ...https://www.crittercontrol.com/services/wild-hogs/wild-hogs-in-yard
@Starlight13 : I felt like these hogs had been vilified until I saw a pic of one with a deer in its mouth...uggghhhh. Same reason we have less deer and so many coyotes now. Coyotes are killing all the deer.
The problem is they live back in our green belts and woods and they have no predators. You can drive in the early morning or evening and see them out foraging near the roads. I was driving on 336 in Conroe and there was a whole group of them eating on the side of the road. I am sure that some of the missing cats met their demise by the hogs behind our Alden Bridge neighborhood.
@cabeuser : Yes I am assuming that now too. I thought at first it was only the coyotes. I have never seen one here although with all the over-building near Spring Creek it has run all the wildlife out. I met someone who worked with George Mitchell recently and he said what has happened to TW was not at all Mr. Mitchell's intention. Sad.

@DEEDEE8 : There's actually an overpopulation of deer because there is no native predators to keep them balance where the city limit is. Ever heard of wildlife killing contest? Look that up. People kill native wildlife such as coyotes, wolves, foxes, or whatever else that crosses their path only for fun and money. A week ago their was a wildlife killing contest called Eastern US Predator Calling Championship that killed close to 1000 native wildlife animals in two nights for fun and money. All of it is stupid.
@sa1111 : That is horrible. I am not a killing fan and that sounds very "redneck" to me even though it may not have been in the south. I do not feel we have an over-population of deer here, just the opposite. Used to be so much more.

Suggestion: To not approach these feral hogs, they are dangerous and can seriously hurt you and even kill you. Those tusks you see are not for eating. I helped raise domestic hogs growing up, we had to always detusk the hogs to reduce their desire to attack you. They are not cute animals and do not have a place in or around people especially children. Be realistic and use good judgement. They can be killed and processed for food.
