Montgomery County Sheriff's Office K9 Unit Shines at Olympics

This past week, the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office K9 unit participated in the 24th Annual Seminar and Certification Trial Olympics at Vohne Liche Kennels in Denver, Indiana.
Handlers Sergeant Birch with K9 Max; Specialist Hernandez with K9 Champ; and Specialist Hinchey with K9 Loki competed in 50 different events along with 103 other K9 teams from Law Enforcement agencies and Department of Defense agencies from around the county.
There were also teams from South Korean Law Enforcement agencies.
We are very proud to announce K9 Loki took 1st place in Vehicle Exterior Detection (narcotics searching) and K9 Champ took 3rd place in Hard Dog/Fast Dog (fugitive apprehension).
Our team also ranked 5th place in several other events.
Join us in congratulating our K9 team for performing so well against some of our nation's best K9 teams.
This is another example of the hard work and training that the men and women of the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office continually put in to keep our community safe.
