The Great Texas Birding Classic Annual Competition

The Great Texas Birding Classic (GTBC) is an annual competition held across Texas to determine which team can identify and count the most birds during a specific window of time.
This is the biggest birdwatching tournament in the state and this year The Woodlands Township has a registered team!
The Woodlands Township has registered a team of 20 to participate in the ‘Big Sit’ category.
These team members will spend one day, Saturday, May 14 at Lakeside Park documenting as many birds as they can see and hear.
Residents are invited to join the team to help spot and identify birds.
New to birding?
The team members will be your guide.
Bring a lawn chair and binoculars, if you have them, and come birding with the team!
Stop by Lakeside Park between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. and stay as long as you like.
All ages are welcome.
