A local man has been arrested for firing a gun at a Harris County PCT 4 Deputy in an attempt to help his wife escape being arrested.
According to reports from PCT 4, on May 6, 2018, a deputy with Constable Mark Herman's Office observed a suspicious female walking in the 7300 block of Augusta Pines Drive. The deputy made contact with the female who displayed several signs of intoxication.
During the investigation, a vehicle drove by the location and fired a gunshot towards the deputy and sped away. Constable Deputies chased the vehicle and were able to detain the driver who was identified as James Dawson. Dawson stated he fired a round towards the deputy to scare him in an attempt to help his wife get away.
"James Dawson was arrested, booked into the Harris County jail and charged with Aggravated Assault against a Public Servant. His bond is set at $25,000.00 out of the 230th District Court."- Constable Mark Herman
