On January 1, 2018, Deputies with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to a residence on Paladera Place Court in reference to a burglary of a residence. Deputies arrived and met with the homeowner who advised she reviewed video surveillance at her residence and observed an unknown male enter her home this morning while she was home asleep.

Deputies reviewed the video surveillance and observed the suspect (pictured below) outside the residence for about an hour before entering. Deputies believe the male suspect entered the home through an unlocked window on the side of the house. Once inside, the suspect is seen on video surveillance from inside the residence entering all rooms of the house to include the bedroom where the homeowner was sleeping.

Deputies believe the male to be a Hispanic or Black male approximately 5’5”, slender build and was last seen wearing a shirt that says “Lions Athletics”.

Anyone with information regarding this suspect or this crime is asked to contact the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office 936-760-5800 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-392-STOP (7867) and refer to case number# 18A000496.

I would not leave a window unlocked, especially after seeing this report. Not just because of the possibility of theft, one can always get new things. But if the homeowner had awakened, would the intruder have shot her to prevent an outcry?

The only way you are safe is if you live in a moat house,..water all around full of crocodiles and draw the bridge up every night....

@Jackfrost Sadly with the advent of fake news, phone/internet scams and ID thefts, not even alligators will protect you and your stuff.

And the bad guys depend on that. If you hear how others have been scammed and think about it and so are prepared, you would laugh in the the bad guys faces when they tell you they are from the IRS and you are going to jail unless you give them $2000 this afternoon.

I don't mean I don't think about it. Very much aware of scams, know some victims, but my comment was about the video of the person entering her house as she sleeps. I can't even think of it happening to me because I don't know what I would do.

She is very fortunate. Things could have gone badly. Unfortunately, we just can't keep our doors and windows unlocked.... even in our bubble.
