Woodlands Man Arrested For Soliciting A Minor
A 32-year-old man from The Woodlands was arrested by police yesterday after they caught him attempting to meet juveniles for sex in Tomball.
Wednesday, March 15, 2017, members of the Tomball Police Department's Detective Division received a cyber-tip regarding the Online Solicitation of a Minor. The tip advised that a white male, 32 years of age, identified as Matthew Thibodeaux was enroute to a location within the city limits of Tomball to meet with two underage juveniles for the purpose of engaging in elicit sexual conduct.
As officers arrived on scene, a vehicle matching the description of the one driven by Matthew, a Grey 2016 Toyota Corolla was located near the location. Officers located Matthew in the park, and as they approached him, he fled on foot. After a short pursuit, Matthew was taken into custody and transported to the Tomball Police Department where he was booked into jail for “Online Solicitation of a Minor”, which is a second degree felony. Bond was set by Harris County District Court at $50,000.
During the course of the interview, Detectives learned that Matthew was employed as an instructor at two YMCA locations in The Woodlands. Thursday morning Investigators met with staff members at one of the locations and advised them of the arrest and criminal charges filed against Matthew.
