@Masha :
I do get them now, I didn't for many years I was anti vaccine.. but the flu can be deadly and my holistic doc at the time was against them but advised if traveling by plane during flu season to
get them.. so I lost confidence in the no vaccine theory.. my mum who lived till she was almost a hundred always got the flu shot and never had the flu... I always get the vaccine with no Thimerosal in, which is a mercury-based preservative, every one offers it if you ask, I go to Target or Kroger.

I never had one my whole life so far and people here convinced me I never had a flu before either.

Flu symptoms start abruptly and include:
* body aches
* chills
* fever of 102 degrees or higher
* fatigue

@Masha : Yes. I had the flu the first year we moved here and I was very ill. I have had 2 friends die of complications of the flu.
People do get the flu sometimes even with the shot. Complications seem to be less. I work for a healthcare company and flu is very prevalent right now. It is not pleasant.

My friend did not have the flu shot ....over December he felt he had a bad cold,not typical flu symptoms ..long story short...suddenly gasping for air....rushed to hospital with bilateral pneumonia caused by the flu.....take a simple cold seriously ,do not take the over counter remedies like he did and feel falsely better for a few hours...go and get ck out please!

@Masha : Yes, I do.

I have never had the flu since taking the vaccine. I remember the flu being miserable. Easy fix.

I don't, because there are many studies such as this one now: www.nature.com/artic les/s41467-019-11296 -5.pdf?origin=ppub
In addition there is at least one study that I know of showing that repeated flu vaccination can increase the risk of death by flu complications in later life, probably due to a learned inability to form antibodies to flu viruses.

@Scarsmum : My husband refuses, he will not see a doctor for any reason though unless something really major is happening.

Personally I swear by flu shots after having the flu 2 years in a row and both cases were really bad and lingered for weeks.
