As interesting as it may sounds, Sweden does not offer luxury or privileges to its politicians as they live like other ordinary citizens of the country.

Well, that's how their president (Olof Palme) was assassinated while walking on the street with his wife, just like any other citizens...

Well, in US, lack of money is usually associated with lack of success. And people usually don't want to elect a loser to be the president. So it's people's fault! Emoticon

Well !! in the west success is judged by the money you have and not by your character.. some of the worlds wealthiest low life's are now showing us who they really are ... I wouldn't call a beautiful soul who lives a simple stress free life a loser because he/ she has no money... no one is a loser if they do their best and work hard... agree?

@Starlight13 : Character is a too subjective word and impossible to measure objectively. Therefore, a society can't reward people quantitatively (such as in terms of money) for their character. But if you can turn your good character into a good skill, then it has value.

@FairManor :

I think every good person has value, even if they don't have a skill.. for example a garbage collector isn't a skill, but we can't do without them so they have value...the only people who don't are criminals..
