In other cultures, various animals are eaten. In Indonesia, live monkeys were killed at the table and people ate their brains. Yuck. People are snake, as in cobra... people on the street ate bats and cover cats. The first time I went into a local market, there were heads, intestines, chicken feet, and other things that would make the typical Woodlands mom barf!
@RedPanda : 100% true. You can Google to find pictures (I don't want to be anymore nasty). Kopi Luwak coffee is a completely different thing. I tried it before and it's not as special as some believe.
That's gross... that's one reason I would never go to Indonesia... let's not forget this is where the flu virus originates from the pigs and birds etc, over there.. nature has its own way of getting back at us if we are not respectful to nature.. I would never be that hungry, you can eat grass if desperate lol
I did research on this awhile back, and not only did the Tasmanian Tiger go in decline from domestic dogs that Europeans brought over in the 1700s, but also from dingos who descended from Asian domestic dogs. Apparently the dingo is naturalized in Australia and is the only largest land predator. Dingoes help control invasive animals like domestic cats running around. Dingos are becoming threatened because of crossbreeding with domestic dogs.
@RedPanda : That is called coffee luat! The beans are eaten by civet cats and then pooped and roasted. It is one of the most expensive coffees in the world.
