Field Application Engineer

UniPixel has commercialized protective cover film under the Diamond Guardâ„¢ brand and UniBossâ„¢ a breakthrough fully additive film based projected capacitive touch sensor product. We partner with OEMs to commercialize our PEF into electronic film for applications like touch panels, electronic circuits, antennas (e.g. RFID), EMI/RFI shielding and many others.
Position Summary:
UniPixel Display, Inc. is currently recruiting Field Application Engineers to provide technical support for UniPixel’s product technology from the design phase at the OEM level to integration of our processes at the contract manufacturer and EMS customer sites. FAE positions will be major account focused servicing customer locations on a global basis with locations in North America, Europe, China, and Southeast Asia.
Responsibilities:
• Aid customers through the full design cycle from product conception, DFM analysis, manufacturing best practices, assembly support and product warranty resolution.
• Provide field technical support, responding to customers' technical questions relative to products.
• Support the product sales process and provide creative, thorough and practical problem resolution.
• Be the first-level key contact and product line technical expert for a specific customer or series of UniPixel customers.
• When requested generate application notes, technical articles, and technical presentations.
• Effectively position UniPixel products against the competition and promote value differentiation.
• Design and create customer templates, reference designs, and solutions to support key touch controller interface.
• Support sales plans in conjunction with the Regional and Corporate Sales Management.
• Support regional distribution and/or manufacturers rep sales.
• Identify, track and communicate customer project development schedule to sales team.
• Provide technical training.
• As required support other FAE’s in critical problem and customer support activities.
Skills Required:
Required Experience:
• Bachelor degree required - BS/ME, BS/EE, BS/Chem E, BS Chemistry. Master’s degree a plus.
• 5+ years printed circuit, flexible circuit, touch sensor, or LCD design experience including working hands-on knowledge of manufacturing processes and downstream use of product technology. Touch sensor experience ideal.
• Mobile Consumer design experience (mobile phone, tablet, notebook computer)
• Ability to travel extensively to support key customer technical requirements. Heavy Asia travel up to 50% expected.
• Self-motivated and driven.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work in team environment with multiple groups.
• Must be detail oriented with strong customer service skills. Must be able to work on more than one task at a time, strong multi-tasking skills are a must
• High level of PC skills with knowledge of MS Office Suite.
