Dancing to Rebuild Event Details:
DANCING TO REBUILD, October 7th, 2017, inside the Lone Star Community Center, 2500 Lone Star Parkway, 5 pm to 11:30 pm Coat of Many Colors Ministries is hosting a unique fundraising event to assist victims of hurricane to rebuild their homes. Our community has been generous with donations since the hurricane, giving bedding, clothing, food, toiletries, etc. But now there are immediate and dire needs that are much harder to donate from our homes... sheet rock, flooring, paint... the items needed to rebuild houses and lives. This is a Dance-a-thon event titled DANCING TO REBUILD where we can have a house rock’n good time together as a community while raising funds to help with the immediate needs of our neighbors who have lost everything.

The first two hours of the event, from 5-7 pm, is a Zumbathon, where Zumba instructors from many fitness facilities all around Montgomery County are joining together to teach the best two hours of Zumba to be found anywhere. Following the Zumbathon, there will be dancing until 11:30 pm, with each hour highlighting a genre of music: the 70’s, 80’s, 90’s and today. One of the nation’s best musicians, Bobby Reece, who has worked alongside such artists Bobby Brown and Whitney Houston, is in town to D.J. the event.
Danzco Dance Academy in Montgomery TX is preparing their dance classes to entertain the community of Montgomery at the Dancing to Rebuild event with performances every hour throughout the evening. The participation of Danzco Academy will bring a crowd, as they are a multi-award winning dance company.
Funds will be raised as participants collect sponsorship money from their friends and neighbors (or their own pockets) for participating in the Dance-a-thon. For every $5 raised, they will receive a ticket as they enter, and there will be door prize drawings happening all night with a large number of door prizes provided by the many generous businesses in Montgomery County. You must be in attendance to win, but if you can’t make it and still want to support the cause, donations can be made through the website: www.CMCMi.org.
Coat of Many Colors Ministries (CMCM) is a 501c3 operating inside the Lone Star Community Center, whose mission is to break the cycle of poverty through mentoring and education leading to gainful employment. There is also a food distribution center managed by CMCM, and the needs of the community for these supports have risen significantly. The funds raised from this event will primarily go to assisting the communities in Montgomery County which were the hardest hit, and which are receiving the least support. Some of the funds will also be used to purchase more food for the distribution center as the demand has substantially increased.
