The deputy arrived on scene and made contact with the driver, a 24-year-old white male from The Woodlands, who was slumped over behind the wheel, passed out with money in his hand. Lying in plain view was a multicolored marijuana pipe and two prescription bottles with the labels scratched off. After contacting Poison Control, the pills inside one of the bottles were identified as Adderall. The deputy contacted the District Attorney’s Office and charges were accepted for possession of a controlled substance. The suspect was taken into custody and transported to the Montgomery County Jail without incident.

On Aug. 3 at approximately 2:15 a.m., a sergeant was dispatched to 25510 Brookhaven Drive in reference to an intoxicated driver. The reportee, an off-duty Department of Public Safety sergeant, was southbound on Interstate 45, in her personal vehicle, following a vehicle that was swerving all over the road. She also observed the vehicle to have a flat tire on the driver’s side. The DPS sergeant contacted the MCSO dispatch to have a deputy conduct a traffic stop on the vehicle. The DPS sergeant followed the vehicle to the location on Brookhaven Drive, where the suspect, a 22-year-old white male from Spring, exited his vehicle and attempted to walk away from her. The MCSO sergeant arrived on scene and made contact with the suspect and DPS sergeant. The suspect became physically ill several times while speaking with the officers. As the investigation progressed, the suspect would be very respectful and then start yelling and cussing at his family, who were standing nearby. It was determined that the suspect was highly intoxicated and was taken into custody and transported to the Montgomery County Jail, charged with driving while intoxicated.

On Aug. 4, a deputy was dispatched to a past family violence call in the 29800 block of Geneva Drive. Upon arrival, he met with all the parties involved in the incident. The complainant, a 46-year-old white male, had received scratches to his arms and back in the incident. The arrested, a 36-year-old white female, stated that the complainant had grabbed her wrists. District 6:

On July 28, a deputy responded to a shoplifter in custody call at Wal-Mart. Upon arrival, the deputy met with loss prevention officers who stated that three suspects were seen walking around the store and placing items in a cart. One of the suspects placed three Dell computers in the shopping cart. Another then placed a large bag of dog food on top of the computers. The suspects separated at that time, and the one with the cart then passed all points of purchase without making an attempt to pay for the merchandise. Loss prevention officers recovered 21 items valued at $1,881.56 from the suspect, a 38-year-old black male from Angleton. He was transported to the Montgomery County Jail and charged with state jail felony theft.

During the course of the investigation, it was found that the suspect and two other persons had picked up prescriptions on several dates since February of this year. The suspect, a 38-year-old white female from Conroe, was taken into custody and charged with fraudulent possession of a controlled substance prescription. She was transported to the Montgomery County Jail in Conroe without incident.

On Aug. 4 at approximately 3:30 p.m., a deputy was dispatched to 1201 Lake Woodlands Drive in reference to an animal cruelty call. Upon arrival, the deputy met with the complainant who stated she and her daughter had observed a small dog locked in a vehicle. The windows were partially down, but the dog seemed to be in distress to them. The complainant stated she waited approximately 30 minutes before calling the Sheriff’s Office to see if the owner would show up. Mall security stated they received notification of a dog in a vehicle at 2 p.m. The owner, a 27-year-old white female from Conroe, arrived on scene at approximately 4:15 and stated that she had left the windows open and water in the car for the dog. The deputy contacted the District Attorney’s Office with the details of the situation. Due to the amount of time the dog was left in the vehicle, the heat (104-plus degrees) and the witness accounts of the welfare of the dog, charges were accepted for cruelty to an animal. The suspect was taken into custody and transported to the Montgomery County Jail without incident. The dog was released to the owner’s boyfriend.

On Aug. 4, a deputy responded to 3040 College Park Drive in reference to a 40-year-old black male from Conroe being detained by Wal-Mart staff for shoplifting. The suspect did not immediately wake up until the deputy had repeatedly beaten on the window. After conducting his investigation, the deputy found that the suspect was not intoxicated. However, since there was a child in the vehicle and the suspect was not in control of the vehicle, it presented a danger to the child. Charges were accepted by the District Attorney’s Office for child endangerment and the suspect was transported to the Montgomery County Jail without incident.
