THE WOODLANDS, TX: Everything about the monthly Ladies Night Out at Market Street was charming. A Stacy Harris production by Stacy Harris Images, a personal image consulting firm, Stacy Harris was charming. The concept of a monthly networking/social get-together is charming; but what a charming idea to hold the monthly event at the boutique renowned for its vast array of charming accessories…Charming Charlie. Having Just received the "2010 Hottest New Retailer" and "2010 Fastest Growing Retailer" by the International Council of Shopping Centers, Charming Charlie has also been recognized as the "2010 Entrepreneur of the Year" by Ernst & Young.

The Market Street location is more than likely the flagship for Charming Charlie. Approximately 10,000 square feet of fashions and fashion accessories are cleverly arranged by color to help the shopper put together and accessorize an ensemble. They cater to a broad market…everything from the youngest fashionista, to the ingénue, and the sophisticated lady. According to Charming Charlie, the ten 'must have' accessories are: ear studs (especially if you have multiple piercing in your ears), earring hoops, bangles (the more on your arms, the better), faux pearls, a belt for all seasons, a neutral clutch, a satchel, a wrap (yes, even in 100 degree weather, the restaurants are often too chilly), and the one accessory that has weathered the test of time…a watch. Even though people use their cell phones for checking the time, watches are worn now as bracelets. You should have both a gold and a silver to coordinate with the rest of your accessories.

I purposely locked my purse in the trunk of my car because I felt I already had enough stuff, but later found myself trudging back to the parking garage to get my wallet so that I could pay for some more 'stuff.' Not only did I pick up some early holiday gifts, I found a pair of earrings on the marked down rack to match a necklace at home. Charming Charlie is a great place to match existing inventory. But be sure to notify the staff when you arrive that you are bringing in personal items to mix and match. That way they won't have you arrested, and they'll even help you with your search by providing 'personal shopper' assistance; they're simply charming too.

Not only charming, but delicious, was the buffet of finger food provided by the Stadia next door. The charming manager, Ron Gleason, even dropped by to say a few words to those present. He announced that Wednesday is Ladies Night with $2 Margaritas. I have heard from a Margarita aficionado that the Stadia's are the best. Let's see, today's just Tuesday.

Bath Junkie, also at Market Street, even had a hand in the production; they set up a hand exfoliating station. This is that unique store that will not only help you blend a personal fragrance from over 200 scents, they'll put it in a variety of body products and even add your favorite color. If you know the ingredients of an out-of-production perfume, they'll formulate it for you. Also coming soon, a liquid powder…another charming idea.
