Yea, he deserves to get kicked out.

And we wonder why we are in the shape we are in.

It is not true that he went to a surplus. He kicked the can down the road.

Crying, spending money they don't have and placing blame doesn't seem to be working in Wisconsin.

I'm glad he won! The whole thing seems ridiculous to me.

He did win. However, for all these politicians, we ought to be very concerned about the obscene amount of money that is going into these races. I would not want the races bought by either side by a few billionaires with their own agenda.

I might be wrong but didn't the democrats call for this special recall election that was a huge cost to the state? What about that wasted money.

Blair, you are not looking at the larger picture. Walker didn't spend much money that the average person contributed. It came from out of state billionaires. No matter whether you were for or against the recall, that is a right all people have to rid themselves of someone they felt had deceived them or whatever. And, they rarely work. But, all the money that is being spent by these few people to support their agenda is scary. Look at the big races! We have to get the money out of politics or we will be the corrupt nation that other nations talk about. There will be no more votes that count. The shoe is on the right foot now, but, I am sure you will be screaming this very thing if it goes on the left shoe. Either way, it is not going to benefit the country in the long run.

I figured it was a state issue. Interesting as it was, it was easy to predict the outcome based on the polls.

I agree...free speech is a bad thing. Why let people contribute to causes they feel passionate about? We should take a note from China and Cuba on how they regulate elections. Maybe Hugo Chavez can lead the way to show us how to be more free. (Yes-I know that China does not have elections)

How many millions do you think your free speech is worth, DJohn?

Snarky sarcasm aside, is this a black and white issue for you? Do you not see anything to concern you in a relatively few individuals and corporations (of any political persuasion) having what could be construed as unfair influence on elections?

I think as Americans we should all be concerned that our democracy is changing and it may not be for the better.

I am fine with you and me having a right to free speech. I am fine with anyone wanting to contribute their time and money to the political process. I am not at all sure about anonymous contributions being part of that free speech concept - you have a right to free speech but I know it's *you* that is speaking out and I can challenge *you* when I believe the message is incorrect or false.

We staring at a billion dollar presidential election later this year - that scares me.

Politics is less and less about substance and issues and more and more about who can throw the most muck. The internet and cable news are reducing people's exposure to balanced points of view and allowing them to listen only to people who confirm their bias. The addition of x,000,000,000 of anonymous dollars to further that bifurcation of the population cannot be a good thing.

How many Americans now view compromise as a bad thing? How many believe in win at all costs? What will that ultimately lead to?
