I would LOVE a Trader Joe's! But alas, there aren't any in the state of Texas at this point. I heard a while back that there weren't any distribution centers in the Southeast (they use the Aldi distribution centers) and they if they built one, Trader Joe's would follow.
I used to do a lot of my grocery shopping there in college and found it to be surprisingly affordable considering the quality (and convenience) of the food.
Yes we love whole foods and Trader joes. I am amazed they are not there before some other locations since Houston and North Houston has so many transplants from other cities. We are moving there in the next few months. Hurry with new locations. we love and shop at those stores in IL.
I'm not a hippie and I've been going to Whole Foods for years. I discovered one in San Diego and was hooked. It smells delicious in the stores, they are very clean, have fresh produce that is beautifully displayed and a huge selection of fresh fish and meats. I would love to have one closer to The Woodlands without having to travel into Houston to go there. We had one in Greenville, SC and it was amazing.
I'd like a Whole Foods. There had been talk of opening one in Indian Springs right across the street from HEB, but when I wrote to them (a few years ago) to ask what the status was, they told me they had decided that The Woodlands wasn't really a good fit for them. Can you imagine? Can you also imagine how I reacted when I read the following article?

H&H is not really affordable for the average person. At least Whole Foods has their 365 brand, which makes it affordable for those of us on more modest incomes.
Trader Joe's is getting ready to open in Dallas and they are looking for places to open down here. There is a facebook page for a Trader Joe's in The Woodlands. People are trying to get enough support on it to ensure one being built here. Go to FB and look for the page and like or friend it. Get your friends to join. Hopefully, they will take notice.
