I have it on good authority that Whole Foods and The Woodlands Development Authority are in active negotiations to bring a Whole Foods to The Woodlands. The location would be the new Hughes Landing development on Lake Woodlands. Projected time frame would be within 18-24 months. It's not a done deal yet but supposedly things are looking good. Keep your fingers crossed.
One Hughes Landing
Location: Upper east side of Lake Woodlands
Description: The Woodlands Development Company is developing One
Hughes Landing, a 197,000-square-foot Class A office building. One Hughes
Landing is the premier office building at Hughes Landing at Lake Woodlands, a
66-acre mixed-use development planned to include up to eight office buildings,
retail shops and restaurants, a high-end grocer, boutique hotels and urban residences.
Hughes Landing is situated at the upper end of 200-acre Lake Woodlands
and will include a pier and boardwalk for festivals and events. For more information
about One Hughes Landing, call Norm Munoz at 713-830-2136.
I just wish they would start on the Creekside Forest Shopping Center. It would be so nice to be able to walk or ride a bike to the store if I just need a couple of things. Maneuvering down Kuykendal on a bike isn't feasible there is no bike trail across the bridge.

Me too, TxDeb, I had heard it was going to be a Randall's. I hope that is not true.

When I first moved out here I loved the Randall's at Panther Creek, it was nice and cheaper than Krogers. They were small and in where the Children's museum and Sears Hardware is now. Then they sold out and went downhill. I would be unhappy to see a Randalls come in, I will just keep going to HEB.
There is a real need for that shopping center in the new areas of The Woodlands. It has experienced tremendous growth. When we first moved here, there was only 1 gas station at 2920 and Kuykendahl and look at it now! It just takes time for development. I am excited about the new movie theater just north of 2920 on Kuykendahl.

Randalls is a ghost town. I have no idea why they are still in business.
I agree with you. I have to give it to the deli section, though. They knock themselves out to help you. But, when I want to avoid the hassle, I go there. I agree that I don't know how they stay open. No matter what day I am there, they are not busy at all.
