There is no reason to not raise your children to be well informed and able to think for themselves.
There's not but most people don't raise their children to be well informed about politics. I teach 7th and 8th graders and I can tell you they spout the same nonsense their parents do. The false rumors etc. I always tell them political discussions are welcomed but we must not call names and we must be civil about it.l
I show my kids CNN Student News most everyday, now before people start screaming it's biased, it's not it is Student News, and they are very good about stating what is going on in the world without their own opinions. They have been doing very good about covering the election, very unbiased, they also cover things going on in the world. Most of my students never watch the news at home and have NO clue what goes on even in our own area. We are going to have a "mock" election in my class to see where the vote lies, it should be interesting to see if my classes are an indicator of what really happens.
And no they kids don't know which way I lean, it's funny some of my students think I'm voting for Romney and the others say I'm voting for Obama, but they'll never know.
