The Woodlands soon will be home to a 72,500-square-foot data center – the first of its kind in the community.
For Gil Staley, CEO of the The Woodlands Area Economic Development Partnership, that is good news for future commercial growth in the area.
Stream Data Centers announced last week that it acquired a little more than seven acres for the new data center. Located at 4001 Technology Forest Drive between Research Forest and New Trails Drive.
The data center will deliver 4.5 megawatts of critical power with the ability to easily expand the critical load to 9 megawatts with all necessary conduit and pads in place. The raised-floor area will be divided into three independent 10,000-square-foot private data halls. Additionally, the carrier-neutral facility will include redundant telecommunication rooms serving each data hall and access to multiple providers.
