I have ridden the water taxi, but don't think it's a good use of our tax $$
Which of your tax $$ are being used? Property and sales taxes are not used to fund them...

I think they could cut the schedule to Friday--- Sunday and Holidays.
They already made this change for this year!

When ever I see them, there are few riders. Frankly, they aren't that nice, even with all the money that was spent. The TROLLY receives much more use.
Ridership is up from last year (even with far fewer hours). They're also being refurbished.
Obviously I like them - I think they make the Woodlands a little different and that's important - I'd rather pay a few more dollars in taxes for somewhere well run with unique qualities. If I want to live in a generic suburb with no differentiators I can move to Katy
Last year they were not operating on a normal schedule due to the build of new boathouse, and fixing the boats. It would be hard not to have increased ridership.
I'm all for entertainment, I just don't see many people using it. A big investment with a low return, In my opinion.

Wrong again - ridership is up based on 14% fewer operating hours.
Where are you getting your information from?
Do you know what the cost is to the Township?
How about trolly service from the different villages?
What funds them?
I've taken out of town friends there and I'm a little embarrassed by them. Unless you are from somewhere,,,,,,,,,,, ahh,,,,,, less cosmopolitan, It doesn't have much of a WOW factor. A nicer boating experience would be good.
I guess I'm a fiscal conservative and think it could be scaled back and the money used in a better way.
With EXXON/MOBIL moving in, the housing and retail markets will continue to boom.

I'd go for trolly service to different villages, but that's been proposed many, many times before and always seems to get shot down. I think the water taxis are a waste,.

I used to be involved with my Village Association so I spent time in Township board meetings when these things were discussed. Current information about sources of funding (again, none are likely to hit residents as property and sales taxes are not used) can be found on the CVB site.
Trolley service would be significantly more expensive and would probably have to be funded from our taxes rather than visitors taxes.

I spent years in San Francisco which is pretty cosmopolitan... but I try to keep my expectations reasonable for a suburb of Houston.
I like that they're something different.

I don't see how you can scale them back any more - any fewer boats and the wait would be too long to be practical. They already scaled back service to weekends and special events only.
I really like the water taxi's. I have ridden them a couple of times and enjoy seeing them when in the area. It helps with all the ambiance of the whole Town Square experience.
