Today's lesson ... California

Today's lesson ... California

Do you know what happened 162 years ago on September 9, 1850 ?

California became a state. The people had no electricity. The state had no money. Almost everyone spoke Spanish. There were gunfights in the streets.

So basically, nothing has changed except back then, the women had real boobs and men didn't hold hands.

That, my friends, is your history lesson for today...

I'll guarantee you that back in that time they would have their a$$$$ kicked and more!

Behind closed doors a possibility but sure as hell not in public.

Well there you go, a lot has changed. Now people can hold hands in public without the fear of getting their a$$es kicked and more! And yes, spanish is spoken a lot as well as Thai and Mandarin and Korean, which is always a ver good thing. To speak more than one language is a very good skill!

Some of these racist, sexist, homophobic "jokes", are just not very funny.

California is so much more than that of your stereotyping...how sad that progression has obviously not happened in y'alls neck of the woods either. Honestly the " Christians" of Texas are far meaner and judgemental than the guys "holding hands" in California. So disappointing.

Welcome, glad to haver another on here without a sense of humor. For your information that was a joke not my mean judgement. There are a few others on here that share your views so keep on posting! The people of California are all so much better than Texans, it should be one of your goals to relocate to the beautiful state of California.

We lived in six different states and I've been in 48 of the 50 states. California has great weather far better than the sweat box in Texas, I have been out and have enjoyed my travels.

Our cost of living in Carlsbad was 6-7 times the cost of living here and that is the only benefit of residing in Texas. As far as forward thinkers in California are they the ones that have put the state so far in debt that they'll never get out?

mom2twnz, please don't confuse the ignorant Texas rednecks with the vast majority of common sense, forward thinking, mostly transplanted people living here in The Woodlands.

Having moved here 30+ years ago from the right coast, I've learned to enjoy the low cost of living and tolerate the long miserable summers. Life is what we make it.
