Well, Hookem, it would be beyond boring if everyone had the same opinion I have. How would we ever learn anything if everyone thought the same?
I am pretty far right, but I am quick to admit most of the politicians on the right are not worth a dime. No blinders on here. No politician impresses me at this point. I would be happy if they were all thrown out and we started over.

Example, if I say, I like the Affordable Healthcare Act because it has a lot of good things in it......that is my opinion. If I say, the Affordable Healthcare Act is not going to cost the taxpayers anything, I better be ready with facts to back that up, as that is no longer an opinion, it is a stated fact. So, Blairbear, that is the difference. Your opinions are welcomed. And,so are your factual comments.

I wish we could have a do over, as well, but, the only thing we CAN do is to pressure our representatives and senators to do the right thing. I write them and the White House frequently. Most of the congressmen, especially here in Texas, just send out form letters in response to my email that gives their talking points and do not address my concerns. So, no one takes us seriously.
It used to be that public opinion and opinion polls mattered. It appears that is not the case, anymore. For example, abortion is not against the law and most people are pro-choice. Yet, there is a smaller group of people who are very loud and very violent, who are trying to eliminate this. I could not have an abortion, but, that is MY choice. I don't feel anyone has the right to decide for someone else. It is something you live with the rest of your life, no matter what choice you make. However, there are some that completely ignore the popular voice on this. And. this is only one area that we are giving the shaft by those who think they know what is best for us. Read the damn polls, politicians! Give representation to your constituants and not your personal religious beliefs.
The polls say we are tired of the wars. Let's get out of Afghanastan. Haven't we lost enough lives for little, if any, gain? Read the polls!
I don't understand why liberals want to protect society from themselves, and want to take care of everyone but believe it is okay for a woman to kill a baby.
