I think squirrels can eat through most anything. This is the first time they have been so interested in my house. It needs to be the last!
 
I installed some speaker wires on our hardiplank siding and had to pre-drill holes for the tiny nails I used - I doubt squirrels can touch that stuff.
 
We've had woodpeckers have a go at ours and they didn't make a dent.

I think Hardy Plank is made from concrete...it would have to be one big squirrel!
