What is up with all the spas around here ? Do that many women really go all the time ? Yes, I go from time to time, but is there a market for all the spas we have? After the spa, I guess we go for frozen yogurt and pick up cupcakes for the rest of the family. Those seem to be the newest fads in this area.

I agree that there does seem to be an unusual amount of day spa/medical spas/nail spas around. I guess some of them are busy, but I do wonder how so many can stay in business.

With several million dollar plus homes in Carlton Woods I am sure that the spas are not hurting for business.

Here's one of the homes for a mere $19 million!

The back of that home is really beautiful.

Only problem with a house that large and inviting...........your visiting relatives would NEVER go home!

All those creepy ones on 1960 still look open to me. I guess people like a little rub n' tug after dinner at the Potatoe Patch.

I don't think I have seen those creepy one's on 1960. Are you talking about spas or massage parlors?

My massage therapist comes to my home. I don't have to bother with spas.

You have to be careful about spas. Some offer everything from making your teeth white, to eye tatoos, to diet plans. Some proceedures have people who have had no proper schooling for doing them.

I use the Aveda Salon and Spa. The only spa services I have done are waxing, pedicure and manicure and they do a great job. I have been getting my hair cut there for years and have always had a good cut. Even though every so many months I may get a new stylist they are good and it doesn't cost me an arm and a leg. I have had color and highlights done also.

Can you request a stylist there or do just get whoever they match you with? It is behind DSW & the Portofino shopping center, right?

The Aveda that I know of is on market st. I have been to that one, and a few others. I think the one behind Portofino is the school.

I go to the one behind the Portifino, it is a school, you can request a stylist for as long as there are there, when they graduate then you find someone new. During the school year I go in the evening. They have great hours for me, and the price is just right and I get a great cut, color or whatever.
