Snake bites

Be careful when out in your yards. I have heard about several of people who have been bitten this year.

They are very bad this year. I had 2 different patient in the last month with a cottonmouth and water moccasin bite on their knuckle and the swelling went all the way to their arm pits. they were quick to get to the hospital and get the antivenom so it saved their arms. the pain was terrible.

I hate snakes! I know someone that has been bitten by a copperhead and she said you can only get the antivenom once...I'd never heard that before. I guess most of us go our whole lives without needing antivenom, but that would still make me nervous to know I couldn't get it again.

We only had two in our yard this year and they were small. But, our gardener said he found a huge one up about 5 houses. It scares me as we have 3 small dogs and they are not afraid of snakes.
