And I really don't care about you being offended. It offends me have people talk about same sex marriage as if it is normal behavior. It is just plain gross and nasty and I sure don't want my children thinking it is normal.
Replace same sex marriage in your quote w/ interracial marriage and you'd be expressing a very common opinion from 20 years ago. In fact, it's still a somewhat common opinion today. Thankfully there were brave couples who fought this bigotry so that my husband and I can be married today. And thankfully there are people fighting for gay marriage today so that one day soon it will be a universal reality. Human rights should never be denied because of hatred and bigotry.
Wow, a race baiter. No one was talking about interracial marriage. You played the wrong card.
LOL. I am hardly race baiting or playing "a card." I was showing the parallel between interracial marriage and gay marriage. A generation ago the same hatred was being spewed about interracial marriage that is being spewed today: It's unnatural, it goes against God's law, it will bring about the destruction of American society as we know it. My point being that civil rights should never be distributed or withheld at the whim of the ignorant and bigoted.
I totally agree with you, twinmama. A lot of things have changed for the better over the years. And, as studies have shown, the most homophobic people usually are not secure in their own sexuality. Look at the people who preach against it and we find out later they are having a fling with someone of the same sex. We have seen a lot of this in both politicians and religious leaders.

This, exactly! You know when a public figure goes on a particularly hate-filled homophobic rant, a sex scandal is sure to follow! When will people realize that in this day and age *everything* ends up on the internet?!
