A Russian Nuclear sub patrolling the Gulf of Mexico for a month, middle easterners crossing the border, reducing our nuclear warheads. I sure feel safe with Barack Hussein Obama in office.

It depends on the intent of their nation! Russia doesn't have our best interest in mind!

It sure doesn't make me feel safe. Neither does our unsecured border.

We have troops stationed in hundreds of countries, do we have the best interest of the general population of those countries in mind?

We certainly aren't trying to take over their governments! I bet South Korea is sure happy to have us stationed there!

Our military has never taken out the government of a sovereign nation? Our military also props up governments with abysmal human rights records.

As for South Koreans, a slim majority actually want US Troops out of the country. I'm sure the rest are happy to have their national defense done on the US Taxpayer's dime, just like Japan and Germany, as relics of wars that have since ended.

It sounds like you are a part of the ocupoop movement or just Anti-American. As far as Japan and Germany, that is what you call the spoils of war. My grandfathers gave their blood, sweat and tears over there, if it hadn't been for people like them you would probably be speaking German.

As did mine Ross. Instead of name-calling, please ask why we still need to occupy a nation we defeated in war 70 years ago that has not posed a threat since. Please also ask why putting the wants of other nations over your own as anti-American.

Yes, we need to keep our military stateside, we need to beef up here and cut down in other countries. If they need our help then we can send staff but instead we are cutting down our military. Over the years we have closed bases stateside but yet we still have overseas bases open.

I have always wondered about the justification for us staying in those countries. We spend a lot of money having our troops overseas. I suppose having them in a few strategic spots so we can keep an eye on what's going on might be ok, but, to keep them there for, like you said, 70 years, is a bit much. I wonder how long we will keep our troops in harm's way in Iraq and Afghanistan.
