I heard this on the radio this morning, it sounds like it will be an amazing event!
The 2012 Watermelon Run For The Fallen will be here before we know it! On Saturday, August 18, 2012, at 7:00 am, we will have the second annual walk/roll/run event and it will be bigger than ever.
Here is a preview of what we have in store…
•The Freedom Flight will be coming back and doing at least a 20 min air show.
•An Army Ranger will be raising the flag this year during National Anthem.
•Jay Stokes who holds the world record for the most sky dives in 24 hours will preform and carry an American Flag into the football field.
•Fire Department will do the criss-cross water cannons again.
•The OIF/OEF Texas Memorial Wall will be on display.
•Missing Man presentation by Jerry Reed
•We will be releasing red/white/blue ballons with a photo of each of the
fallen from Texas, at the end of roll call.
•Ziggy Moonshine and the Bootleggers will perform. Ziggy and band are all vets.
•Emmy Award Winning Darby Ledbetter will preform.
