I think people blew out of proportion what he said. I don't care what his position is, it makes no difference to me, just like I don't care what Lady Gaga's position is or her foundation. People get angry because they are high profile, who cares what they say. Boycott if you want, it will do no good, neither will running to eat there to show support.

I don't agree that what he said was blown out of proportion - what he said sits very well with a large contingenct of the US population and is hurtful to another large segment of the population.
I disagree strongly with his position but I respect his honesty in stating it so clearly so that everyone is aware of his position.

Well, I will tell you I have family members who are gay, and their position was they don't care, he can state his beliefs, they just got really tired of other family members on FB posting all the stupid Chic-Fila pictures and comments. In fact, one of them said, he is entitled to his opinion she didn't care about that.
It was more the fallout from what he said that hurt her than what he said.

I need more Conservatives on my FB then - I haven't see anything at all about this on my FB

Most of my family is conservative, but one particular member likes to push their beliefs and religion on others, so she really hurt other family members with her constant posting of the stupid pictures and sayings.
The man voiced his opinion. I'm sure he is willing to take the consequences.
I read an article on AOL this morning about a man that owned a bakery and would not make wedding cakes for gay couples. His bakery and his choice. He would bake any other cake they needed, but not a wedding cake. He was willing to take the consequences, too.
How do you think either of these two scenerios would play out if it was about blacks, or Jews, or people over 65 that they would not hire or do business with? I just wonder why it is always ok to discriminate against gay people.

In fairness I don't believe Chick-Fil-A are not hiring gay people and they haven't said they won't do business with gay people.
The CEO stated he opposes gay marriage. I agree with your sentiment that had he stated he opposed inter-racial marriage the reception would have been very different...

Thanks for clarifying that, UKMatt, I guess I am not up on this. I agree, it is a lot of energy spent on one fast food chain that is not even that good.

Remember to support Chick-Fil-A tomorrow! I cannot name any other company that does so much to support their employees, customers, and communities!
I'm guessing domestic partner benefits are not part of the perks.
