Ok - it seems like Mitt Romney has handed the Dems a large stick to beat him with on these tax returns... given that he could easily eliminate that by releasing his tax returns, what do you think could be lurking in those returns that is so bad he is willingly taking a beating?
Whatever, it is a way to take away from the real issues. Let's ask for the moon and make a big deal about it so it looks bad, let's not talk about the real issues facing the nation. All the political crap that's thrown around is irritating, let's hear about the issues.
He should provide them, but the Dems are making too big of a deal over it.
I don't often agree with Donald Trump, but he said that Romney should release his tax records when Obama releases his school records!
We know he's rich...it's all the democrats have!
They keep attacking his investments, not mentioning:
A. He has a blind trust that manages his money and he cannot have any say on it
B. He has not broken a single law.

Which is what makes me wonder: what on earth could be lurking in those returns? The Dems will continue to make a big deal about it, they'll continue to insinuate that there MUST be some big shock hidden from the American public until he releases them.

There's probably nothing there, it's just something for the Dems to make a big deal about and take away from the REAL issues at hand. I think at this point he will release them when he's ready, but people have a tendency when pushed to put their hands up and say NO. I bet if they left him alone he would release them.

You might be right but it sure seems strange to hand your opponent a perfect opportunity to attack you repeatedly if in reality you could just release the records and remove that entire line of attack from the mix.
But you let him attack you repeatedly then release them and people see there was no reason for the attack how does that make your opponent look. Your opponent is not dealing with the issues but other topics.
I don't care what is in his ttax returns. I don't care if he has billions buried somewhere that he will never pay tax on. I doubt that he does, but it no longer matters to me.
obama and his team will do and say anything to try to destroy Romney's character. Character assination is all they have.
Thaey dang sure cannot talk about obama's record, the economy or obama's lack of ledership ability.
I want Romney to get in office and put this country back together. His tax returns don't even cross my mind!

With respect, I don't think you're on the list of people the Obama campaign is hoping to influence :-)
I think it will matter to some though - if Romney paid absurdly low taxes through 'creative' accounting I think some will care. If the tax returns show a closer involvement with Bain than he is current claiming then I think some people will care.

obama put people in his cabinet that didn't have tax returns because they didn't pay their taxes........at least Romney has returns.
This is true. Not particularly relevant to the question on Romney's taxes but nevertheless, true :-)
