I have Outdoor Perfection set to bring in top soil, mulch, and build gardens in the back yard. My wife and I will buy the plants and put them in. Been to Spring Nursery, looking at Big Tex Trees. Any other large nurseries in the area we should consider?

Anybody have experience with the Tru-Green Laurel hedges or trees from BigTex? How about the Cleveland Pear trees from Spring Garden?

Thanks, and have a Solicitor-free weekend!

We had some difficulty with Big Tex Tree Nursery. We ordered and paid for, twice, palm trees that we picked out and supposedly were taped with our name on them. When they arrived, they were not nearly as big as the one's we ordered and the tags were removed. So, you have to be a bit careful with them. I tried to call the place and their phone didn't pick up. Then, they went out of business in that location.

We did go to Plants for All and loved their plants. It is off Kuykendahl and Louetta. Their plants were fresh and pretty, unlike some of the scraggly one's you can get at Houston Garden and places like that. Also, I was at Lowe's off 242 and their new load of plants looked really good, too.

I was having a bad day last day last week and I went driving around. I found a plant nursery. It made my day feel better. It's off at Gosling Rd and it had plants I had only dreamed about, like the Magnolias...We used to have a huge magnolia in our backyard in Galveston. The plants looked really great too. I wanted to buy some, but will have to go back for them. here is their website to Spring Gardens Nursery. springgardensnursery inc.com/

The Arbor Gate has some gorgeous plants. Everything looked very healthy and the plants were blooming all over the place.

They had plants I had not seen before nd so many vibrant colors. I love that place! I will go back.

I bought some Trugreen Laurels from the Big Tex Location by Lake Conroe. Everything is growing great and the truegreens look so cool. The staff wasn't too bad on the eyes lol and was pretty personable. They planted for free, my only complaint is that I had to wait 2 weeks to get planted because they were all booked up. Everyone in Bentwater loves them!

I have 2 Tru Green Laurels in the front &.1 in the back. Should I be concerned about the root system being fairly close to my pool? Bought from Big Tex, only nursery that had them. They will be beautiful trees and growing rapidly.
