Sometimes, I wonder if people realize that the President cannot and does not exactly run/ruin the country. We have Congress, the Senate, and various locals, from mayors to governors who really run the show. A lot of the rumors and innuendos from both sides are really just scare tactics. Lets not forget lobbyists, religious and business organizations, plus other groups who are really behind how things are done in this country.

You are absolutely right! The president cannot do a lot of things without the approval of Congress. I wish he oculd sometimes.

You are absolutely right! The president cannot do a lot of things without the approval of Congress. I wish he oculd sometimes.
Then we would not live in a country with choices if the president didn't need congressional approval. We would end up with a dictatorship if we did not have the checks and balances.
But if a president pushes his agenda enough and has a congress to back him he will get what he wants done, in the beginning Obama had a Democratic congress so he was able get get Congress to do his bidding.

If he doesn't run the country, then why all of the executive orders. I think a lot of people need to get their head out of the sand.
it is also has to with who he surrounds himself with, like his czars and cabinet like Cass Sunstein and his wife Samantha Power, Elizabeth Warren, and so on. these are people who help him make policies.
I would love to see it. It opened last month. A liberal friend of mine saw it a few weeks ago and it really opened his eyes (although he has never been an Obama fan and did not vote for him in 2008).
