Sillystring, the criminals find those guns in home invasions. When was the last time you used your gun to protect yourself?

Fortunately I have never had to protect myself but, I can and will if needed.

I'm sure criminals buy a lot of guns right off the street.

@sstone

I did in fact have to use my pistol to defend myself from someone that had a case of road rage. There is no telling what would have happened if I didn't have it when he approached my window.

There are a lot of cases of people protecting themselves or their property. Fortunately the state of Texas has giving people the right to conceal a weapon. Even though the constitution says we already have that right.

The fact is that criminals will be criminals. If someone wants to do you harm they will, even if guns were to be outlawed.

The reason we have the right to bare arms is so we can form militias if the government starts getting to far out of control.

People have been killing people since Cain and Able. Only the method has changed. It is part of human nature that will never change. You can destroy all the weapons on the Planet and there will still be Murder. A person could take a pen or pencil and kill someone with it, does that mean we outlaw everything that can potentially be deadly? I am sick and tired of Idiots spouting anti-gun nonsense every time someone gets killed with a gun.

That is an absolutely true statement.

If guns kill people, pencils misspell words.

My mind says that when a man kills his wife with a gun, he is not your average criminal. He bought that gun to kill her. Look at that guy who just killed 5 in Seattle. All the mall and school killings were with guns. These people didn't have a chance. They were taken by surprise and, even asault rifles have been used. No one can tell me that assault rifles are used for hunting or protection. I was raised with guns, but, I am, also, not mentally ill or have a tendency towards rage. An angry person with a gun is very dangerous!

I agree, they are dangerous. What do you think would be the solution?

For one thing, a man showing up at a person's office with a gun is threatening enough for a restraining order. The gun ought to be taken away at that moment and he to be put on a list banning him from purchasing another gun, for starters. What good is a protection order if they already know he carries a gun? Police don't follow you around 24/7. Most of the time, police won't even arrest someone who is threatening until they harm the other person. So, if you are dead or dying, they will do something.

What was the road rage situation? I see lots of aggressive drivers that I wouldn't get into a confrontation with for fear that they had a gun.

How did the "road rager" get to your window? Where did you stop? How did you get involved?

Thanks, I'm always curious how people get into these types of "shootouts"

Taking away his gun will do no good, sstone. People buy guns on the street all the time. You can ban him from owning a gun legally, but he will still get a gun if he wants it.

I have no clue what he was so pissed about, thats all I know is he was very pissed. He got to my window when I finally had enough of him following me and and stopped in a new section of the neighborhood where there were no houses. He stopped in the left lane kinda beside my back window, jumped out and started approaching my widow. What ever I did, I had no clue I did it.

It is sad when anyone is murdered but especially sad when it is someone who was helping the community
