Anyone watch his "out of Work" special last night?
If you count the underemployed, the people who have given up looking for a job and the people who are no longer receiving benefits, the actual unemployment rate would be over 14%.
That is not the least bit acceptable for our country and its citizens.
We don't really feel the unemployment down here, although I'm sure there are unemployed locally.
The stories are so sad. These people lose everything trying to stay afloat and they really don't know what to do to fix it.
Private enterprise is sitting on their profit because they are uncertain about the future. They are not going to hire until they know what is coming next.

Very sad situation for the people.
Yes, you are right. However, the Republicans voting down the Jobs Bill is partially to blame for this. Obama had a bill that would put millions back to work fixing ifrastructure, roads, bridges, and it was voted down. This is pure partisan politics and people have to suffer as a result.
Every problem in this country is the Republicans fault, right sstonetx? When we had a Democratic congress it was Bush's fault, now that the Republicans are the majority it's their fault.
Mr. Clean (Obama) is our only prayer for survival, be sure to vote on election day!
Tell me what bills the Republicans have let pass that helps the country since Obama has been in office, Texbuck? They have used the filibuster on everything.

What bills did the Democrats pass that didn't put us farther in debt? We are rapidly approaching $16 trillion in debt! In 2008 the debt was $9 Trillion.
if obama gets elected again, you can look forward to a big fat bill to fix infrastructure, all the BS that goes with it. The Dems seem to believe we have to spend our way out of this mess!
We need the private sector to do this, not more government spending. Private sector not going to do a thing until they know who the Pres is and I don't blame them.
sstone, quit believing obamas speeches, where everything is Bush's fault or the Republicans fault.........the mess we are in IS OBAMA'S fault and his total lack of leadership ability!!!!!!!!!!!!
The Republicans are not going to vote for a BAD bill. We do not need huge spending, despite what the Dems think.

And how would we have paid for the job bill? The country is already in debt we don't need more bailouts and bills that will cost us money, in the long run that won't help the people who are unemployed. It seems like Obama just wants to throw money we don't have to create a false sense that the economy is getting better.
Stonetx....your relationship with Obama reminds me of a woman's relationship with an abusive husband. No matter how bad he is, or how many wrong things he has done, you still keep rooting for him and the "change"
First of all, we need the infrastructure fixed. Do you think the private sector is going to do it? Who is going to pay for that........the government, that's who. All the private sector companies are sitting on millions upon millions of dollars and not hiring until they can see economic growth. Ok, how do we get economic growth that way? It is a dog chasing it's tail. You have to get the economy moving forward by people spending money. They cannot spend without a job. I would think that would be basic economics 101, Blair. Anyone who thinks that Obama can do this all by himself is foolish. I have not heard one person on the right offer a solution to any of these problems. That is going on with Congress, as well....they are just not allowing anything to be put forward until they can defeat Obama. They don't come up with any bills that will do the job as that would make Obama look good. This is not rocket science. I have never seen this degree of partisanship in my lifetime of presidents.
Our problems are much deeper than the federal government just creating more jobs.
Actually, there are plenty of jobs. If you have an education, job skills, and some get up and go, they are there. Agreed, there is a slow recovery but government spending will not solve the problem.
Please Stone, stop making it about Obama all the time. People are not out to get him. He's a very likable guy. However, he has lots of opposition within the Democratic party and seems to have no clue as to how to LEAD anything or anyone. They haven't passed one of his budgets in 3 years!!!

The private sector is not waiting on economic growth.....they are waiting to see how much obama is going to tax them if he is elected again.
If Romney wins, you will see them hiring.[/quote
If that is the case, they have been waiting since Obama took office.

He is a BIG part of the problem.
You all are making it about Obama. All a lot of people on here do is bash him. I never hear anyone give what they consider solution.
