Kayaking

Kayaking

I was reading the comments on Riva Row Boathouse... although it's nice to have a place in The Woodlands to kayak, we found a much better place for a real kayak experience. It's on the north side of Lake Conroe up in Willis, I think the name is North Lake Conroe Paddling. They offer real personal service and the kayak rents for only about $29. for 2 hours. You get to paddle in a real lake with the beautiful Sam Houston Forest as your backdrop. We've been three times and each was a great. We are planning to go again this weekend with this beautiful fall weather. It takes about 25 mintues to get there from The Woodlands. Here's their number: 936-203-2697

Sounds nice. I like to go up on the spur of the moment. For Conroe, I have to plan a bit. I have my own Kayak but my car is too small for it.

You do have to call ahead with NLCPC to make a reservation, but it can be the same day, cause that's what we did. I think the owner's name is Harry if you end up going. It's really a whole other world than the small paddle area here in The Woodlands.

I enjoy the little paddle area we have here. I don't have to deal with power boats, waves, noise and traffic.

When I have a day to spend I'll give it a try. Looking at a map, 25 minutes looks like a stretch to me.

With kids, close works for me. Maybe when there older.
