Good Chinese restaurant in The Woodlands

Good Chinese restaurant in The Woodlands
Sep 23, 2012 - 11:50 am
I am supposed to meet friends and family at a restaurant in the Woodlands. I'm not from around here. Chinese is what we decided on. Does anyone have recommendations for a Chinese restaurant? Not the one by the mall where the chairs are so close you can smell the bad breath from the person behind you. I know a lot of people like that one, but I do not, I feel like cattle when I go in there. I don't remember the name of it. Any recommendations besides that one would be greatly appreciated. Also no chinese buffets. thanks.

I like Kim Sun in The Woodlands. It is a Vietnamese restaurant, but, has thai and chinese stuff on the menu. We have some pretty bad Chinese restaurants around here.

I have been to Chef Chans once in the Grogan mill shopping center. It was a good sit down restaurant

Never tried Red Phoenix--always meant to.

Has anyone ever tried Double Dragon in Magnolia? It is across from the Target/TJ Maxx shopping center on 2978 (on the corner where 1488 and 2978 meant). Only tried it a couple of times, but the food was pretty good. I thought their wonton soup was better than what I've had in TW.

I have pretty much given up on a Chinese restaurant in TW. I have drifted more towards the Thai. Ploy Thai off Research and Six Pines is very good in the evenings. They don't open back up until 5. You can ask them to make the food as mild or hot as you like and it still has good flavor. I have tried most of their dishes and loved them.

Nit Noi is a good option too - there is one in the same strip mall as the Krogers at Kuykendahl and Woodlands Parkway.
