If I judged every neighborhood as you do BOOO, then I would label The Woodlands as a place full of judgemental and ignorant jerks( since that's what you are and everyone must be the same way [sarcasm]). But I'm a little more mature and know that there's good and bad no matter where you are. TL/TR does have some bad people, but so does every other place on earth. Grow up
We have had a house in TL/TR for 40 years with no problems. The reason you don't know about crime in The Woodlands is because they cover it up. I know there are serious problems with drugs in the schools--I sent my kid there. I know there are break-ins, thefts and vandalism incidents all over The Woodlands--again kept out of the media.
Having money does not make you a better person--exemplified by the pathetic comments in this forum so far. I find a lot of The Woodlands residents to be materialistic, stuck up snobs. More worried about their next vacation or hairdo than to have compassion on their neighbors or common courtesy behind the wheel of their Mercedes or Lexus.
How about reaching out to these TL/TR neighbors? WWJD?
JAH there are points that I will agree with you. Some Woodlands residents don't care about anything but money..but they are also the same people who want crime to be covered up because they don't want people to know it happened to them.
Really it is a few bad apples that posted on the thread. Yes some people of the woodlands are too snobby but there are also very nice people in the woodlands too!
I will be moving into TL/TR in the coming weeks and hope that the neighborhood isn't as bad as it has been described in this thread. To those living in the area, have things improved since this thread was created late last year?

Thanks to the drought, everybody in the area has a nasty lawn. Well, some are spending a lot of money to keep it green, but not many.
Kidding aside, the neighborhood is fine. We're more blue collar, so cars getting worked on in the driveway and the like are more common here. Kids play and walk around unattended. Most of the crime is of the domestic type. Despite how dark it is, I feel safe getting in and out of my car at night. Also, being blue collar, most of us have dogs and guns, that helps keep the crooks away.

Levardis, have you moved here yet? Do you like it? We are still trying to get out. Thankfully our neighbors who always liked to start drama with everyone moved first. I still hate it here and want to leave. Meeting with the realtor again soon about getting a for sale sign back in the yard.
Did anyone notice that the tltr website is down. It expired which I guess means they didn't pay their bill? They want me to pay a fine for my kids bikes in the driveway but they can't pay their website bill. Unbelievable.
According to my realtor, yes, Timber Lakes and Timber Ridge are considered to be a part of The Woodlands as they are in the 77380 zip code.
Additionally, those are not crime riddled communities. They have crime just like any other part of town which is to be expected in this day and age. I really like the area and I do not consider it to be dangerous by any stretch of the imagination.

It's probably down because the HOA board is full of retirees who think the interwebs is a series of tubes. They also think your little rapscallions need to be taught discipline and responsibility and work in a coal mine for the summer instead of riding their bikes all willy-nilly over the neighborhood.
Yeah, we moved in late June and so far so good. I like the house and our neighbors are quiet. It's nice to be surrounded by tall trees in a more secluded part rather than being bunched near a major highway or strip mall. I feel safe in the area and I think all the talk about crime sometimes gets exaggerated.
Lived here for a year, have nice neighbors and have not had one problem. I work, shop, and go to church in the Woodlands. And yes some of my mail come addressed with The Woodlands on it. If you drive though here which I have many times its mostly families and there is quite a few law enforcement that lives in the neighborhood. Yes it's an older neighborhood but would much rather live here than an apartment anytime. Ive heard what goes on in the area apartments.
