Updated at 2:23 p.m. ET: The special prosecutor in the Trayvon Martin case will announce criminal charges against George Zimmerman late Wednesday afternoon, a law enforcement official told NBC News.
Did you see Mayor Bloomberg, today, say that this law ought to be struck down in all the states that have it and not allowed to go through in the one's that are thinking of it. I have to agree. Vigilantism is NOT what America wants or needs.
I don't know if Zimmerman is guilty or not and frankly don't care. I will never get involved in that type situation, even if someone is being attacked, raped, assaulted, robbed, or if my neighbors house is being broken into or a strange person is peeping in someones window. It is just too risky to get involved. The fact is, if you get involved and something were to happen and you had to shoot someone, the public will hang you in a court of public opinion.
In this case I am glad that the media got involved. He crossed the line when he was ordered by the police to stop following the young man. In my opinion a 2nd degree charge is fair. 1st degree would be uncalled for and difficult to prove. It is now up to the legal system to do their job.

Do we really know that he did not stop following Trayvon? He could have been jumped on his way back to his car. I am all for a fair trial which will be hard to obtain with all of the media convicting him weeks ago.
For the record I do not know the facts! Did Zimmerman really have a broken nose and cuts on the back of his head ? There is still no excuse for the kid being shot to death.
I don't think it was the police that told him not to follow. It was a 911 dispatcher. I don't know if that particular dispatcher was an officer, but I have a buddy that is a dispatcher and has no other law experience that dispatching.

Your a sad individual to say you would NEVER get involved in ANY situation. You should be ashamed. A great example of why our society is going down the toilet. Your selfish and bragging about it. Sick.
Zimmerman has already been tried and convicted by the media.
Gotta love the tv network that altered the 911 call just to stir the pot.
Charges should be brought against the new black panthers. They are nothing more than a bunch of thugs. Sharpton and jackson live and breathe to incite callous and criminal behavior in "their" people. Holder is just as bad.
