The first time i went to five guys i ordered a burger and a regular fries, then they pour a ton more fries in the top of the bag. They don't skimp on the fries one bit.

Oh gosh, the regular fries portion there feeds like 3 or 4 adults easily. I wish they had a mini/kids size. I always eat too many fries there.

I went just recently in CA and was driving back to my hotel and couldn't stop eating the fries on top. Ruined my appetite for my burger. The fries are a gift and a curse.

The Counter Burger seems expensive to me, but I think they have a burger happy hour, so that might be a good time to try it at a reduced price.

Five Guys is good, but they do overload on the fries.

Of course we don't have to eat them all, but what fun would that be.

i have been to the counter 2x - st time it was great, 2nd time my bun was as hard as a rock, and burger was over cooked... my favorite burger is at Katz express in potofino- YUMMMMM

Most of the new chains serve burgers and fries that are to expensive. My all time favorite is In N Out burger located in California, Arizona. They are not in Houston,, yet. $5+ tax gets you a cheeseburger, fries, coke. The best fries, IMHO.

Can't go to any of the burger joints mentioned and get out of there for less than about $9+tax. Every one has different tastes. I suppose that is why there are SO many "joints".

Back when Moses and I were children, the really good burgers you could buy were greasy to a degree. It might have neen because they used real meat. A little greasy is good in my world.

You've got a point there Silly. That was about the time we could go to McDonald's for a burger, fries and a coke and get change for a dollar. Kinda like when gas was $0.19 per gallon.
