who would everyone recommended for A/C check-ups? Used Hal Watson in the past and they were fine, but wanted to know who else is good?

Call The A/C Guy, LLC. Ask for Rachel, tell her Julie sent ya. Talk about fast affordable service. They were so kind when my unit broke down, they brought me a portable unit for my bedroom to stay cool while they did the repair. I'm glad I did get a 2nd opinion, the other a/c place (can't remember the name) that I called gave me a long list of stuff that was causing my problem. Turns out it was a $75.00 part......nice, uh? I appreicate the A/C Guy's honesty...hard to find someone to trust, esp with the a/c. Did I mention it was on a weekend? Not sure how I found out about them, might have been on here. Think their phone number is 281-217-5848

There's a part for an air conditioning system that only costs $75! What is it, a washer? When my AC conked out, the repairman found a dead thermostat. It looked like a "live wire" tester, two leads attached to a thumb-sized piece of plastic. For fun, I guessed how much it cost, multiplying what I thought was the manufacturing cost by twenty. At $75, I underestimated by $200 (or was it $300, I forget.)

I've used AC Guy too. Friendly service and they'll pick up the phone and send a guy out before the other companies even call you back.

I had an actuator that was replaced. Careful on those as they're expensive.
