@sillystring Everyone predicted that, but I am sure there are some who were hoping for someone else (and others who were happy).

Since he does not balance the Bernie Sandersesque side of the contest, what will happen next? To Bernie's supporters?

@Frankie Some of them will just not vote. Some of them might go to Trump, but most of them will probably vote for Clinton. Probably similar to those who supported Cruz.

I know it isn't important but Kaine looks like a ragtag instead of someone running for the highest office. Wrinkly looking suit, open collar, no tie. My first impression is one of not impressed.

He was not one I wanted her to choose. However, I don't know a lot about him. I want to give him a chance to show us what she sees in him.

I would have preferred Elizabeth Warren. I think that Hillary needed someone who would plant her standard in the ground against the mega-rich, Wall Street elitists with whom she has been so cozy. Kaine seems a convivial and articulate fellow, but his image isn't far removed from Hillary's (absent the suspicions of dishonesty.) Additionally, I think that Warren would have faithfully represented the populist aspirations of all those Democrats who supported Bernie.

I suppose that she chose him for the very reason that his integrity is unquestioned, as opposed to hers, thus "balancing" the ticket, but I think that it was a mistake.

The selection of The Donald by the Republican man-in-the-street in the primaries shows that the electorate wants someone who is an authentic voice for their concerns, rather than a plausible, plugged-in functionary. Ergo, Elizabeth Warren.

Nonetheless, I will vote for her, of course. She's not the greatest but she's not a misogynistic, racist, bigoted egomaniac. (Well, at least three out of four.)

I just heard someone on the news say that Kaine is one of the most respected people in congress. Both sides of the aisle say that he has great character.

I agree with Frankie about Kaine looking a bit rumpled. That surprised me. He will have to clean that image up As Obama and Biden are always impeccable.

I am reserving judgement...just my observation of his dress was the same as Frankie's. I am sure he is a good guy.

Sometimes it's nice to not have someone look slick. All in all as long as they aren't sloppy, I don't mind a little bit dishevelef
