I had Direct TV. years ago when I moved here and every time it stormed I lost the signal, not good for a sports fanatic. It might have improved since that time but I am fine with Comcast.
I had Directv for years and loved it. But the signal interruption was annoying and it was getting really expensive. Bought a Amazon Fire TV Stick, got subscriptions to Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon Prime and never looked back. Don't miss satellite tv or cable!
Have Uverse cable and internet. No problems. Very happy with it. Not all villages have it yet as they are laying the fibre optic cable. Unlimited data with cable/internet combo.

Ditched directtv as well, it was just to expensive. If you have a good internet connection Netflix, hulu and amazon prime cover almost all shows. I have an app called Kodi, streams live sports, PPV fights and you can find movies that are still in theaters. All free. PM me if you would like to know more.
We have Directv and don't have too many issues with it during rain, we have the HD dish and that might make a difference. Hated Uverse we had too many issues with signal loss.
I have infinity / Comcast and it works well but the price is ridiculous . If there was something else in my neighborhood besides direct tv , I'd do it . Price is way too much but I do have it for Internet and phone but it's still more than I feel is necessary .I am spoiled / I don't like to fool with watching on computer or fixing it to work / I am so used to just hitting the remote and getting instant reception/ I will look into to a cheaper way if the price hikes continue /I have refused to sign a contract for fear it won't be available in the next city. I have an aversion to getting stuck paying off a contract for services that are not available . That just isn't fair .
No if you move and there is not Comcast there then you are stuck and it's a 2 year contract / you will be responsible for the contract on the months that remain / similar to breaking a lease .
@Nursebettytx : haven't moved recently but I recall that with a letter from employer advising that a transfer was active, any local contract was voided without penalty. Health club contracts also voided if no facility was had in next location.
That's good but if you have Comcast you had better double check / it was time for me to renew this year and since I doubt I'll be hear much longer . Comcast told me unless you move to a place with xfinity / Comcast , you are responsible for the unused portion and this was just two months ago. I know that some employers /large corporations will pick up things like that in move .
