This is a post about Camp Gladiator Cranebrook Park. I normally don't start forum discussions, but I really wanted to let everyone know about this bootcamp at Cranebrook Park. I've been going since January, and I love it! We meet every Monday and Wednesday from 6:30 - 7:30. All fitness levels come out, including some with injuries. Coach David is very encouraging and can help with modifications to moves if you need them. You can also try a session (or two) for free. David didn't ask me to post, but I (selfishly) would like more people to know about the bootcamp so there's no chance it will ever close at this location Emoticon

How does it work? Seems like there are these camps all over?

@cabeuser You're right, there are several Camp Gladiator bootcamp locations all over the Woodlands. Once you sign up, you can attend camp at any location. Cranebrook Park works best for me, but there are other locations. For example, David also coaches at Terramont Park, and I know there's a camp at United Methodist Church.

Here's the link to all of the CG locations in the Woodlands:

@amybelle2001 :

I have to wonder WHY as goals to be healthy turn into aches, pains and worse. Then come the senior years, or earlier, when joints are shot from all the "beneficial" exercise imposed on them. It is a vicious circle.

@Frankie Hmm, well, "goals to be healthy" are not always the reason for aches, pains and worse. Sometimes, unfortunately, it's just genetics and aging. I do what I can to stave off what I inherited from my parents and the effects of aging--part of that for me is exercise.

I have been interested in trying this but don't know anyone that has personally done it. Thanks for the insight!

@amybelle2001 Not always, true, but typical exercise-related injuries include pulled muscles, sprains, strains, breaks, fractures and dislocations. Maybe those things are just MY excuse for not striving to be healthy in this manner.

@Frankie You're right--any of those can happen with exercise. But you also get injuries just from sitting and working, e.g., back strain or carpal tunnel. I'm a believer in doing whatever works for you, so if you strive to be "'healthy" in a different way, bravo! Emoticon I just wanted people to know about CG at Cranebrook Park so I can continue going there (again, selfish, but hey, it's so convenient for me).

I was just making an observation, not trying to dissuade anyone from exercising. Sorry if it came across that way. Having a repeat Ironman in the family, I admire those who can accomplish something like that and remain on their feet as they cross that finish line. I'm happier cheering them on.

@Frankie No worries!! These forums are for making observations, right? And I think everyone should be able to express themselves, whether you agree or not.

That's very cool about the Ironman athlete in the family. I'd love to be able to do that one day!
