I think you're right, and I really like Bernie (He's the epitome of all the humanist NYC Jews that I have known.), but I wonder if he can win the big one. On the other hand, Hillary (whom I also like while acknowledging that she is the distaff "Slick Willy") is probably no stronger a candidate.

Bernie is going to stomp Hillary in New Hampshire. Even though everyone realizes that this phenomenon is mostly a product of the fact that he lives next door, it will be hard for Hillary to come back from a double-digit defeat.

If they try to force one of the establishment politicians on us on the Republican side, I most likely will side with Sanders. Same old, same old is not an option I am going to vote for. Why do people think they will get a different result with the same methods? Not happening today, not happening tomorrow.

But, at least Sanders is going to try something new.

I don't think it will be either. Hillary will be forced to drop out as her FBI case gets worse. America (I hope) is smart enough then to elect Bernie Sanders. I think Biden will be given the nomination at the convention. The DNC has some unique powers to basically change the nomination if they want (not quite that simple, but almost).
Cruz will win for running an honest and straightforward campaign. He has never shifted on the issues. He is the only conservative in the race who that can be said about.

@djohn78 :

Except for when, you know, he wasn't honest...

One issue Cruz has is that he is immensely dislikable and disliked - that's never good for a politician...

Over 3.5 million, $27.00 average contribuitions to the Sanders campaign. $0 pack dollars. No billionaries backers, just common folks. Not beholden to the plutocrats and oligarchs. Not beholden to Wall Street, big banks or pharma.

This coming from the person who supports a lady responsible for the death of Americans in Bengazi and said it was because of a video while using her personal email server to send and receive beyond top secret emails. A server that former Secretary of Defense Robert Gates says, “I think the odds are pretty high” countries like Iran, China, and Russia hacked Hillary Clinton’s email server.
He followed up by saying “Well, given the fact that the Pentagon acknowledges that they get attacked about 100,000 times a day, I think the odds are pretty high.”

My favorite Hillary quote of this election has been "Don't let anyone silence your voice. You have the right to be heard. You have the right to be believed and we're with you."
Tell this to Jennifer Flowers, Kathleen Willey, Juanita Broaddrick, Carolyn Moffet, Elizabeth Ward, Eileen Wellstone, Christy Zercher, Sandra Allen James, and who knows how many other people.
How can they not be believed?

In the words of future inmate Hillary Clinton "What difference does it make?"

You are correct - - - for the first time on this forum. If Sanders wins the Democratic presidential nomination, he will win the general election and become our 45th president.

We look forward to it.

I have not declared support for any candidate yet so you have no idea what you're talking about (again).

my support for any candidate is irrelevant when it comes to whether your chosen candidate is a liar or not...

I was a Hillary supporter, but on the fence. Bernie is a great candidate, as well. I could vote for either of them.

I honestly think Sanders has a chance. If Hillary is the Dem candidate, the rebublican candidate is going to win the election
