I wrote a concern about the loud car noises at a 4-way stop by my house. I want to know how to go about recommending a 2-way stop instead. My message was blocked by administration. Why?

No matter how nice they are, how would a 2 way stop sign differ from a 4 way stop sign in terms of noise? Not understanding that.

I think the idea is you remove >50% of the noise associated with braking to a halt and accelerating back up to normal speed - a car moving through an intersection at 35mph is quieter than a car slowing down from 35 and then accelerating back up to 35.

The downside to that is that cars will tend to go quicker still due to not having to stop and that makes it more dangerous for the kiddos.

Not pertinent but I feel like typing: I read a book a while back by Michael Crighton (sp?). Don't remember the title but it was about these people traveling back in time. They ended up in the Middle Ages in England. When one of them got there, he was struck by the complete lack of ambient noise. I had to think about that. Go outside your house and listen to all the ambient noise, most of it from far away. Then imagine what it would be with zero of that. Quite interesting. Back in centuries past, no interstate highways, no airplanes, no industrial noise, no nothing like that.

Like I said, just felt like typing on my phone.
