sillystring,

Don't count on it, people just blindly vote without even knowing a candidate. Look at all of the America haters that Obama was influenced by. You have Bill Ayres, Burnadine Dorn who both leaders in the group (The Weather Underground), they were responsible for blowing up buildings in the 60's and 70's. There is Frank Marshall Davis, a Anti-American who was on the governments watch list, there is Jeremiah Wright another Anti-American and there is Louis Farrakahn. This is one reason Obama won't release all of his records.

I think Romney needs to air videos of these these people and show Obama's ties to them.

Do a internet or youtube search on any of these people and tell be what you think.

I agree the economy will play a huge part in the election process but I don't believe it will be the only issue in play. The Democrats are going to go after Romney on womens rights for example.

Now Romney is "hiding" his tax returns?

I doubt that these unrequired sets of tax returns will be a big deal.

Harry Reid can keep trying to make them significant, but in my opinion, they are a gnat on a dog's back compared to the problems this country is facing.

We need to stop trying to distract and get to the issues we face and how they will be fixed.

He can't talk about the issues. Most people who vote are smarter than to base their decision on trivial stuff like tax returns. Only the clueless will use it as a reason not to vote for the only competent candidate.

I believe that tactic will backfire on him. I voted for CRUZ, partially because of the sleazy, obviously dishonest, ads by Deuhearst. Most voters, can and do, see through a candidate who only tries to attack their opponent because they can't run on their record..

As the article which leads this thread attests, Romney is already losing in the battleground states, even before the impact of his obduracy in concealing his income tax records has had time to register in the polls. As the weeks and months pass between here and November, ever more citizens will ask themselves the same questions: "Why won't he release his income tax returns (as Obama already has and as his father did when HE ran for president?)", and, "What is he hiding?"

Since there is literally NO reason for Romney to refuse unless the data is damaging to his candidacy, voters will ponder why a centimillionaire who wants to change the tax code to enrich his colleagues by billions of dollars would spurn requests for disclosure.

It is only going to get worse.
