Just because we are passionate about politics does not mean we can be mean to one another. If we just stick to the topic, no matter how we differ with a poster, it will not be personalized. I have felt attacked at times with the sarcasm aimed at me for something I said. And, I am sure others have felt the same way. We just have to stay on the subject and not mock others for their beliefs. Disagreeing is ok. We will always disagree or agree on certain things. I would hate to have to stop talking about the issues that are important to me just because of a few.
