I've lived in Texas a long time and each winter is different, some we run the AC and heat at night and others just AC and then some winters heat. We have a fireplace that we use instead of turning our heat on when we are in the living room. I guess I've been in the South all my life and have gotten used to it.

So my next question is what is fall like here? Do we get beautiful fall oranges and yellows Im guessing no

I moved to the Woodlands from California (although I've also lived overseas and a couple of other US states) and the lack of a real Spring and Fall season in our location never ceases to amaze me.

We go through the cool Winter with brown grass and no leaves on the trees and then it seems like nature throws a switch and everything has leafed out overnight (or so it seems) - the reverse seems to happen in Fall, perhaps not quite as quickly.

Some of the trees turn a very pretty color, but definitely not the whole range of colors you're used to. I miss fall in New England.

I am originally from Ohio, which explains my name "texbuck" Texas Buckeye. My favorite season was the fall with the beautiful colors of a golden autumn, football season when you didn't have to roast at a game, etc.

I do not miss the snow and ice so it's "ALMOST" a fair trade off for me.
