There's nothing wrong with changing your positions on things. However, when your positions change to pander to the electorate, that's when there's an issue. However, most of the blame lies with the electorate for claiming they want principled politicians, but really voting for those who say what they want to hear.

Take the Dem primary in 2008. Obama was against gay marriage, although he had made previous statements as a state senator in favor of it. Do you really think he was against it, or do you think he wanted the nomination? Which candidates were for it in the primary? Kucinich and Gravel, and look how far they got.

I will agree on this one. I have changed positions in the past and undoubtedly will again in the future. As I gain more information or knowledge about a subject my views have and will again change

maybe they will all flipflop over to what they REALLY think about an issue and not worry about the votes. That would be a pleasant surprise.

I've had enough of that word used to describe politicians. People only use it to put down the candidate they don't like. It' meaningless to me.

Who hasn't changed their position on something? When the situation changes, only a fool wouldn't change.

It's only used by folks with no ideas of their own.
