Nothing will change in Washington. They make policy and law. They will do what lines their pockets and gets them votes.

Although plenty of us have opinions about politics and don't hesitate to voice our opinions, I believe the majority is apathetic.

The economy, the gas prices, grocery prices are not life changing for me. There are only 2 of us. I don't believe people in Texas are feeling the same pain people in other states are feeling.

I feel for families still raising children and putting kiddos through college. Their expenses have risen quite a bit. The people that have lost jobs and can't find another one. Unemployment won't feed your family and pay your bills.

Until the majority feels the pain and demands Washington make better choices and gets down on our level of living........paying SS and losing their pensions, things will remain the same.

Sillystring, in theory, you are absolutely right about this subject. The key is finding a way to accomplish that. I have no idea where we would begin. Since there are no term limits, it keeps a "good old boy" network going.

How do we get lobbyists out of Washington and put a clamp on the congress's salaries, etc. They vote their own salaries and benefits, I believe. I think it would be nearly impossible to change that.

You can't get the lobbyists out of Washington as there are too many people there on the take!

This is true, but we should be able to change the way they do business an d maybe they would leave on their own.
